Constance and the Waiting by TROOT  Now Available

TROOT brings together 10 exceptional musicians from around the world to perform the intricate music of pianist and composer Tim Root. This is a true super-group of talent bringing together Julie Slick & Alessandro Inolti (Adrian Belew Power Trio, Echo Test), Marco Machera (Echo Test), Steve Ball (Tiny Orchestral Moments, Electric Gauchos), Beth Fleenor (Crystal Beth and the Boom Boom Band), Amy Denio (Kulture Shock, The Tiptons), Nora Germain, Alex Anthony Faide (Electric Gauchos, Los Twang Marvels) , Bill Horist along with Tim Root on Piano. The group first came together in the fall of 2017 in Seattle with members travelling from home-bases in Paris, Rome, Buenos Aires, Philadelphia and Los Angeles to spend a week living, rehearsing and recording together an album of intense, complex pieces.

The music was written in 2015 & 2016 when the composer was newly arrived in Paris. Some of the themes had been with him for years, but it was the catalyst of a move to a new country and immersion in a new culture that allowed the music to emerge complete. Tim Root is a graduate of UCSD and Mills College, having been trained by some of the mavericks of the American avant-garde, and studied piano with a student of Rachmaninoff. The music combines these influences with Root’s love of complex rock, jazz, improvisation, and minimalism to build a sound that is gut-punching, epic, humbling and expansive.
