Private Music Instruction

I am currently accepting students, high school-age and above, for colloquium-style seminars in piano performance, composition and analysis beginning in 2026.

I am transitioning away from individual private lessons and would like to express my deep gratitude to all of the students who have studied with me over the years and to their families who have supported them in their musical studies. Thank you!

Outside of my teaching practice, I am also a Composer, Conductor, Performer, Improviser, and Sound Designer. I lead my own ensemble, TROOT, for which I compose. I have designed and mixed sound and acted as a Musical Director for theater, television, and the music industry since 1985 with clients ranging from the smallest of local theatres to ABC, MSNBC, and the San Francisco Pops. I hold a Master’s Degree in Music Composition and Electronic Media from Mills College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from the University of California, San Diego.
